【 摘 要 】

The authors review the internationalframework governing trade in financial services, describethe treatment of financial services in recent tradeagreements involving Latin America and Caribbean countries,and analyze the liberalization commitments made in threeselected country case studies-Chile, Colombia, and CostaRica. They give emphasis to free trade agreements because ofthe generally deeper level of liberalization and rule-makingachieved to-date. The authors discuss some of the causes andpotential implications of their findings.
