At first glance, content issues relatedto information and communication technologies (ICTs) use ineducation might seem to some to be of minor importance. After all, access to the internet means access to an entireworld of educational resources. Access to the internetprovides access to seemingly endless sets of educationalresources and indeed it does. However, experience shows thatthere is a dearth of educational resources in a format thatmakes them easily accessible and relevant to most teachersand learners in least development countries (LDCs),especially as they relate to a given country's currentcurriculum. Experience tells us that, unless electroniceducational resources are directly related to thecurriculum, and to the assessment methods used to evaluateeducational outcomes (especially standardized testing), lackof appropriate and relevant educational content is actuallyan important barrier to ICT use in schools.
