【 摘 要 】
This study implements and tests amathematical programming model to estimate interregional, interindustry transaction flows in a national system ofeconomic regions based on an interregional accountingframework and initial information of interregionalshipments. A national input-output (IO) table, regional dataon gross output, value-added, exports, imports and finaldemand at sector level are used as inputs to generate aninterregional IO account that reconciles regional economicstatistics and interregional transaction data. The model istested using data from a multi-regional global input-outputdatabase and shows remarkable capacity to discover trueinterregional trade patterns from highly distorted initial estimates.
