This short country report, a result oflarger Information for Development Program(infoDev)-supported survey of Information and CommunicationTechnologies (ICT) in education in Africa, provides ageneral overview of current activities and issues related toICT use in education in the country. Chad and its partnersin development have adopted a 10-year strategy calledEducation and Training in Liaison with Employment (EFE), andthe process for setting up a national ICT policy isunderway. Most of Chad's initiatives involve trainingand continued education through ICT. Although distancetraining is difficult, it is not impossible. New goals andinitiatives are currently being explored by the nationalMinistry of Education to set up programmes to benefit bothteachers and students. The main obstacle to overcome is thefinancial need.
