Local innovation refers to the dynamicsof IK - the knowledge that grows within a social group,incorporating learning from own experience over generationsbut also knowledge gained from other sources and fullyinternalized within local ways of thinking and doing. Localinnovation is the process through which individuals orgroups discover or develop new and better ways of managingresources - building on and expanding the boundaries oftheir IK.
