【 摘 要 】

Sustainable investment (SI) has a strongniche foothold in Sub-Saharan Africa, anchored in theregion's largest investment market, South Africa. Yetmore work is needed, at policy and portfolio levels, to growthis investment theme. This report recommends measures toexpand SI in Sub-Saharan Africa. It forecasts that over thenext five years there will be considerable growth ofenvironmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerationsapplied to investment in South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria.While these three countries form the basis of the study, thelion's share of data and observations emerged fromSouth Africa, which is home to the continent's mostdeveloped capital markets.
