The World Bank Group’s Water andSanitation Program (WSP) provides technical assistance tosupport the development of government institutions andcapacity building, sector policies and strategies in thewater, sanitation and hygiene (WaSH) sector in Papua NewGuinea (PNG). This report presents the results of the study,including full details of the approach and conclusions. Itoutlines the background and study objectives, the conceptualframework, methodology and tools used, the data, analysisand the emergent findings from the field work. In additionto the focus on sustainability, the report also sets outfindings for equity and inclusion and options for possiblemanagement information systems (MIS) for the sector. Theresults of the study were presented to rural WaSHstakeholders at a workshop in PNG in February 2015, and theresultant discussion was incorporated into this report.
