【 摘 要 】

This study analyses how the Syrianrefugee inflows into turkey affected firm entry andperformance. To estimate the casual effects, instrumentalvariables, difference-indifferences and synthetic controlmethodologies are used. The results suggest that hostingrefugees is favourable for firms. Total firm entry does notseem to be significantly affected. However, there is asubstantial increase in the number of new foreign-ownedfirms. In line with the increase in new foreign-owned firms,there is some indication of growth in gross profits and net sales.
