【 摘 要 】

Grim descriptions of the long-termconsequences of climate change have given the impressionthat the climate impacts from greenhouse gases threatenlong-term economic growth. However, the impact of climatechange on the global economy is likely to be quite smallover the next 50 years. Severe impacts even by the end ofthe century are unlikely. The greatest threat that climatechange poses to long-term economic growth is frompotentially excessive near-term mitigation efforts.
