【 摘 要 】
Recent literature has shown evidence ofpositive contributions of export promotion agencies aroundthe world in raising exports, through the intensive andextensive margins of trade. The number of export promotionagencies has increased substantially over the past twodecades, and most of them focus on assisting exporters inunderstanding and finding markets for their products. Thispaper describes the characteristics of export promotionagencies around the world, using a novel database from theWorld Bank, in collaboration with the International TradeCenter in Geneva, covering 2005-10. In addition, it presentsa short summary of the literature on the impacts of exportpromotion agencies.
