South Africa's National ClimateChange Response Policy (NCCRP) sets out a number of keygoals. Reaching these goals will enable South Africa to meetits commitments under the United Nations FrameworkConvention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). They key elementsthat will ensure South Africa can effectively track andsteer greenhouse has (GHG) emissions and removals are thefollowing: Establishment of a national system for GHGmeasurement, reporting and verification (MRV). MeetingUNFCCC reporting commitments on steps taken and envisaged toimplement the UNFCCC (focusing on understanding and drivingdown GHG concentration trends). Integration of these MRVactivities with established South Africa systems for AirPollution Management.
