Jim Yong Kim, President of the World Bank Groupdiscusses conflicts that have caused a devastating amountof violence and destruction, severely affecting thelivelihoods of millions of people, and creatingdestabilizing effects at the global level. He talks about the World Bank Group's new strategy tosupport recovery and reconstruction efforts in the Middle East and North Africa. He speaks about blending grant resourcesfrom donors with lending from multilateral development banksin order to provide concessional-level financing tomiddle-income countries that are hosting refugees. Inconclusion he said that we must work together to mobilizesupport for the millions of children, women, and men who arevictims and hostages of war, and to demonstrate our commoncommitment to help them survive these conflicts, and createa better life once the guns fall silent.
