Jim Yong Kim , World Bank Group President, spoke about howUnited Nations and the World Bank Group have madesignificant progress in working together to help the poorand the vulnerable. He discussed increasing the impactof humanitarian action in the face of new threats, such asclimate change, pandemics and an unprecedented refugeecrisis. He suggested three ways in which the World BankGroup and all the multilateral development banks can worktogether, especially in protracted humanitarian responses:First, produce new data and evidence to promote arisk-based approach, prevent crises and respond to theneeds of refugees and host countries; Second, embracethe power of leveraging public funds for greater impact;Third, explore tying this funding to specificoutcomes in addressing protracted humanitarian crises.
