This study is part of the ongoingdialogue on reforming trade logistics, and facilitatingtrade and transportation in Central and South Asiancountries. It presents key findings from several rounds offirst-hand observations and interviews conducted withmultiple stakeholders to measure the performance of key roadtransport corridors across the region, including Kazakhstan,Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and to some extent, Pakistanand Afghanistan. The study identifies obstacles that hinderefficient movement of goods along transport corridors, andoffers recommendations for short- and medium-term reformsfor participating country governments with particularemphasis on the performance of border crossings. The overallobjective of this study is to provide basic information ontransport corridor performance so that national policymakers and private sectors have a basis to open discussionson how they might cooperate to facilitate internationaltrade and transport by addressing infrastructure andoperational bottlenecks in the region.
