The report is structured in thefollowing manner. The first chapter introduces the researchobjectives, methodology (literature reviews, survey,micronarratives and interviews), and limitations of theproposed methodology. The second chapter presents the globaland Turkish context for women’s co-operatives. Chapter threeprofiles women’s co-operatives in Turkey, describing theirorigins, their membership, their business and their internaland external challenges. Chapter four discusses the impactof women’s co-operatives on their communities and theirmembers. Chapter five and six present the supportiveinfrastructure for women’s co-operatives, namely the legalcontext for co-operatives in Turkey as it relates toTurkey’s co-operative strategy and international goodpractices; and the support programs that women’sco-operatives are asking for, and that are effective. Theconclusion presents high level findings and links thesefindings to eleven recommendations that aim to strengthenwomen’s co-operatives in Turkey.
