This study aims to assess the publicfinancing for nutrition in Sri Lanka. The primary purpose isto understand the size and share of public investments innutrition relative to the overall level of publicexpenditure in the country. Second, it discusses whether thenutrition interventions in which the government budget isspent are in line with the global evidence base andpriorities set out in national policies. It also providessome recommendations on how such assessments could beimproved from challenges and difficulties faced inundertaking this exercise. This report begins withbackground and contextual information of nutrition in SriLanka (chapter two). It then provides an overview ofglobally practiced nutrition interventions and policies andprograms that have been implemented in the country (chapterthree). Chapter four describes the approach used for theanalysis followed by results and findings in chapter five.The report concludes with brief discussions on key findings,challenges, and recommendations in chapter six.
