This technical note provides an overviewfor authorities who wish to conduct flood hazard and riskassessments and who must develop a step-by-step plan forcarrying out the assessment that is appropriate and feasiblein the local context. It is important to keep in mind,however, that many aspects of flood hazard and riskassessment requires specific expertise and experience. It isnot advisable to conduct these assessments if your teamlacks this experience, and this technical note does notprovide specific guidelines, which can vary dramaticallydepending on local and regional conditions.
