This report provides a comprehensivediagnostic of the labor market for health workers inGuinea-Bissau. It provides the evidence base for a newstrategic plan for health workforce development. The reportanalyzes three dimensions: (i) workers’ demographics,motivations, aspirations and satisfaction; (ii) hours workedand its distribution across different activities; and (iii)compensation, household income and consumption. Beyond this,it also calculates wage and labor supply equations. Theanalysis accounts for both, health professionals (doctors,nurses, midwifes, technicians) and community health workers,who are treated as volunteers in the Bissau-Guinean health system.
