The overall goal of this report is toassist the World Bank Group (WBG) to achieve greater impactfor women from its current activities in agribusiness inPapua New Guinea (PNG), and to provide clear recommendationson additional interventions aimed at improving outcomes forwomen. The report focuses on the supply chains for coffee, cocoa, and horticultural products (fresh produce), as thereis a wealth of knowledge on these supply chains and ongender issues, and these provide the best opportunity toidentify entry points for follow-up activities. Given theimportance of smallholders in PNG, and the need tounderstand gender dynamics in farming, this report paysparticular attention to the roles and constraints faced bysmallholders, without in so doing wishing to diminish theimportance of the roles played by other actors in thesesupply chains.
