【 摘 要 】

This policy note provides an assessmentof some of the impacts and proposed policy responses toproblems related to the drought, including the rise in foodprices. To address immediate needs, the humanitarianresponse to the drought is being managed by the Governmentof Kenya and a number of international organizationsincluding the World Food Program (WFP), the Food andAgriculture Organization (FAO), and the United NationsChildren's Fund (UNICEF). Recognizing that responseneeds are currently recognizing that response needs arecurrently being addressed, this note focuses on policychanges that can address long term vulnerabilities relatedto the drought.
