【 摘 要 】

Water security is vital to Moldova’seconomic development, environmental sustainability, andsocial inclusion. Moldova’s water-related opportunities andrisks are shaped by factors both within and outside thewater sector. Rural areas are poorly served by drinkingwater and sanitation services because of low investment,inadequate service delivery, and lack of assistance to ruralmunicipalities. Moldova needs to embark on a more holisticand multisectoral programmatic approach for managing thecountry’s water resources, risks, and services, both ruraland urban. Thispolicy note emphasizes on the actions goingforward needed to manage the water resources effectively.
