【 摘 要 】

In January 2020, the energy ministers ofseven countries and territories established the EasternMediterranean Gas Forum. EMGF’s objective is cooperation toovercome obstacles to exploitation of the region’s gasresources. Major challenges are (i) lowering the cost ofsupplying eastern Mediterranean gas in regional andinternational markets, and (ii) opening markets to enablehub operations and price discovery. The World Bank issupporting efforts to meet the second challenge and, in sodoing, to meet the first as well.
