This Education Note presents thefindings from the first four Education Resilience Approaches(ERA) pilots from the countries of Rwanda, South Sudan,Honduras, and the UNRWA system in West Bank, Gaza, andJordan. The findings illustrate the facets of educationresilience and how it can be fostered. Education resilienceinvolves identifying risks and assets, protecting the assetsin schools and communities, and aligning education systemcommitment to a resilience approach. Resilience matters ineducation because learning and school success are not onlypossible in spite of adversity, but also education can bethe vehicle to overcome it.
