【 摘 要 】

Residues located in the breakdown craters of a Niobium (Nb) cathode plate used for DC breakdown tests were successfully identified by energy-dispersive x-ray spectrometry. These residues were from deliberately seeded particles of nickel as well as adventitious silica debris. In addition, splashes of tantalum were found, apparently generated from the anode.
