【 摘 要 】
Mixing results from the instability of an interface separating distinct fluids. We consider acceleration driven instabilities, with a density discontinuity at a fluid interface. Constant acceleration defines the Rayleigh-Taylor (RT) instability, while impulsive acceleration (as by a shock wave) yields the Richtmyer-Meshkov (RM) instability.
