【 摘 要 】
We studied the guiding effect in a glass microcapillary array with similar dimensions as for a multi-channel plate (MCP) detector. At low impact energies (<10 key), no significant ion transmission was found. At higher energies, though the transmission after a transient period tended to be regular, temporary blocking and unexpected strong irregularities were found in the angular distribution of the transmitted ions during the early time evolution. Self-organizing seems to take over even after this chaotic period in the development of ion transmission. (C) 2014 Published by Elsevier B.V.
