【 摘 要 】

Allelopathy is the directinfluence of chemical released from oneplant on the development and growth ofanother plant. The trial accomplished inseed technology laboratory of Faculty ofAgriculture, Islamic Azad University ofIsfahan, in 2018. A factorial layout withincompletely randomized design with fourreplications was used. Treatmentsincluded plant organs extract (leaf, stem, root and total plant), and different tobaccoextract densities includes four levels of0%, 25%, 50% and 100%. Controltreatment (0% of tobacco extract) hadobtained the highest value of germinationrate, germination percentage, coleoptileweight, radicle weight, radicle length andcoleoptile length. The maximumgermination rate, germination percentage, coleoptiles weight, radicle weight, radiclelength and coleoptiles length was relatedto extract of stem extract which hadmeaningful differences with othertreatments. Both radicle and coleoptilelength decreased with increase inconcentration of tobacco extract. Tobaccoextract has negatively effects on cornseeds by decreasing the germination rate.Tobacco may increase the presence ofsecondary metabolites, such as alkaloids, all of which may have different effects onseed germination percentage. The highestgermination percentage (91.91%),coleoptile weight (0.046 mg), radicleweight (0.0161 mg), radicle length (7.24mm), and coleoptiles length (6.45 mm)was related to interaction between controltreatment (0% of extract) and stemextract. It is concluded that the extract ofNicotiana tabacum had both inhibitoryand stimulatory effects on seedlinggrowth of Zea mays.
