【 摘 要 】
The evaluation andcomputation of yield stability of agenotype over environments is a criticalcomponent of a certain breeding program. The present study was intended to screen11 advance chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)genotypes and one check for genotype ×environment interaction (G × E) at sixlocations with varying micro and macroclimatic conditions for yield correlatedphenotypic characters. A number of 11advanced genotypes of chickpea and onecheck variety were assessed for theiradaptability at six different locations ofBangladesh. The randomized completeblock design (RCBD) with threereplications was chosen to experiment. The means were used to computeAdditive Main Effects and MultiplicativeInteraction (AMMI) analysis of variance, followed by regression analysis tomeasure × E. The regression analysisshowed significantgenotype×environmentinteraction for all the phenotypiccharacters. The mean values of days toflowering, days to maturity, plant height, number of pods per plant and seed yieldwere highly significant for linear, as wellas non-linear components of G × E.Chickpea yield was significantly (p< 0.01)affected by genotypes, the environmentsand G × E interaction, indicating that thevarieties and the test environments werediverse. G × E was further partitioned byprincipal component axes. The first twoprincipal components cumulativelyexplained 86.59% of the total variation, ofwhich 53.34% and 33.25% werecontributed by IPCA1 and IPCA2,respectively. The AMMI stability valuediscriminated genotypes G2 (BCX 09010-9), G3 (BCX 09010-2) and G8 (BCX01008-4) the stable genotypes. Theinvestigated genotypes exhibited varyingadaptability in different environments.Genotypes G3 (BCX 09010-9) and G9(BCX 01008-3) were stable genotypeswith high yield over a wide range ofenvironments are promising candidatechickpea varieties.
