【 摘 要 】
Field experiments wereconducted to investigate the response ofcommon bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) tonitrogen fertilizer. The main factorincluded the fertilizer (Granular Urea46% N), was made up of two levels: nofertilization (0 kg/plot: control) andfertilization (0.4 kg/plot), while thesecondary factor was the variety (threevarieties of common bean: Djedida,Nelson and Jalila). The experimentaldesign was a randomized complete blockdesign with split plot arrangement andreplicated four times. The effect offertilization was evaluated during twodevelopment stages (flowering andfruiting) for each variety and this on thetotal dry biomass, the length of the aerialand root parts, as well as on the number ofsecondary roots. On the other hand, thecombined effect of fertilization andvariety was studied on some yieldparameters per plant, such as the numberof flowers, pods, seeds and the harvestindex. In addition, the number of nodulesat the end of seed maturation wasevaluated. The results indicated that thenitrogen fertilizer application significantlyreduced the root length, the number ofnodules and secondary roots in most ofthe common bean varieties. However, fertilizer application significantlyincreased dry matter in both floweringand fruiting stages, for the three studiedvarieties. Pod number per plant and seedyield was increased by the application ofN fertilizer, depending on varieties andthe parameters being measured. Djedidaand Jalila varieties gave the best yieldand can therefore be recommended tofarmers. According to our results, thepercentage of improvement by Nfertilization on one parameter or anotherdoes not exceed an average of 20%, compared to the control. Indeed, the effectof fertilization is positive and seems toincrease the harvest index by 18% inDjedida and by 20% in Jalila, comparedto non-fertilized plants. Unfertilizedplants of the variety Nelson showed thehighest ability to nodulate.
