This is a descriptive-correlational study of the motivations in the college choice process of high schooljuniors and seniors enrolled in agriculture classes at three central Illinois schools.A total of 78 students were given surveys out of a total sample size of 81 potential participants.The results showed that students who plan to continue their education in agriculture have parents with some level of college education, and value financial aid highly have opinions which differ statistically from those students who do not meet the previous criteria.Implications for high school guidance counselors and college recruiters and recommendations for practice and further research related to college choice are provided.Results of this study may aid in recruitment efforts of these students by allowing for universities target students’ interests specifically in recruitment.
