【 摘 要 】
Emilia sonchifolia, a member of the family Asteraceae, has been reported for its potentialapplications in the ayurvedic system of medicine for treating various diseases. The core objective of thisstudy is to compare the phytochemical and pharmaceutical activities of aqueous and methanolic extractsof the aerial plant parts. Phytochemical screening was performed to identify the presence of protein and amyriad of bioactive secondary metabolites like alkaloids, terpenoids, tannins, saponins and flavonoids.Assays like total antioxidant, hydrogen-peroxide and Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power, antidiabetic, minimum inhibitory concentration and agar well diffusion method were performed in both extracts. Thinlayer chromatography and UV-Vis analysis were performed for prospective studies.
