【 摘 要 】

The aim of the study to assess the level of knowledge on gestational diabetes mellitus amongantenatal mothers. Descriptive research design was adopted for the study. The population for the studyincludes all antenatal mothers attending OPD in selected hospital. The sample selected for the present studywas 30 antenatal mothers who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Convenient sampling technique was adopted forthe study. The study result shows that the level of knowledge regarding gestational diabetes mellitus, among30 antenatal mothers 3(10%) had inadequate knowledge, 11 (70%) had moderately adequate knowledge and 6(20%) had adequate knowledge. The study concluded that most of the antenatal mothers were got onlymoderate knowledge about the gestational diabetes mellitus. So the health care professionals should beaware of gestational diabetes mellitus and its management and preventive measures and should createawareness of gestational diabetes mellitusamong the mothers.
