【 摘 要 】
Introduction: Resilience and Psychological Wellbeing are two important concepts in adaption ofpatients to chronic disease conditions. Goal: tocompare resilience and psychological wellbeing inwomen with irritable bowel syndrome and normalwomen. Methods: This was an analytical-comparative study. The statistical population consisted ofall patients with irritable bowel syndrome visitingImam Ali Hospital in Zahedan. Of all patients, 50female patients with irritable bowel syndromeand 50 normal women were randomly selectedand matched. The research tools were resilienceand psychological wellbeing scales. Collecteddata was assessed using multivariate analysis ofvariance (MANOVA). Results: The results showed adifference between resilience and the componentsof positive relations with others, environmentalmastery, purpose in life and acceptance in womenwith irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and normalwomen (P < 0.05). Conclusion: more effective training programs can be designed and more efficientmeasures can be taken given the definite role ofpsychological factors (especially, resilience andpsychological wellbeing) in incidence or exacerbation of physical disease symptoms in patients withirritable bowel syndrome.
