【 摘 要 】

Common agricultural policy as a general denominator for the legal and financial instruments of the European Union in the field of agriculture and rural development is a complex system characterized by a continuous evolutionary trend. The Western Balkan countries, routing the path to their integration into the EU, have undertaken the burden to harmonize their agricultural policies with the EU acquis in this area, which includes an extensive reformatory effort. Experiences of the Central and Eastern European countries which had previously undergone this transition process, and with whom WB countries share similar economic and political-institutional heritage, are of great importance for the projection of the potential effects that the EU integration carries. This process inevitably brings both difficulties and benefits, and the success of the integration arrangements in agriculture of a country largely depends on their balance. The conclusions of this study point to the prevalence of benefits over costs, which favors the fulfillment of the basic assumption of the study.
