【 摘 要 】
Photocatalytic degradation technique is becoming the most promising method to remove toxic organic contaminants in wastewater because of its excellent catalytic activity, low-cost and low energy utilization. In this focused review, we present the current research status on the application of photocatalysts in the degradation of nonylphenol, a toxic endocrine disruptor. Various photocatalyst used in nonylphenol degradation are summarized and the degradation efficiency are compared. Due to the unique features of nonylphenol including persistence, hydrophobicity and low concentration in wastewater, novel methods have been developed to improve the performance of photocatalysts on nonylphenol degradation. The mechanisms of the nonylphenol degradation were also presented. This review aims to provide the research progress of the photocatalytic degradation on nonylphenol, thus promoting new ideas for engineering semiconductor materials and multi-functional photocatalysts for environmental applications. It will be more helpful for the researchers working in the field of nonylphenol degradation in wastewater treatment.
