【 摘 要 】

The various Cuban migratory inflows to Miami since the Cuban revolution have contributed to the emergence of a local scene and a Latin music industry. This industry sets up subsidiaries to centralize the management of its activities. It can thus articulate different scales of operation in both Latin American and US Latin markets. In this respect, it is part of the dynamics of globalization. This article begins with a discussion of the conflicting relationships between different generations of immigrants in Miami. It then shows how these tensions are reflected in the media and representations of migration. Finally, it highlights the impact they have on power relations within cultural industries, and thus on the artists and contents to be promoted in the mainstream market.
