【 摘 要 】
Since the works of art are an essential material to know the culture of a society, we will use the artistic career of Aida Makoto as a tool to approach gender relations and discrimination in Japan. Through an anthropological and social analysis, we will analyze the major works of Makoto's career that reveal the secrets of a seemingly homogenous and calm country. Crossed by a crisis of identity, lossofculturalvaluesandWesternimposition,Japandevelops specific forms of patriarchy such as the taste for pubescent corporalities, the abuse of violent sexual images with references to rape, and higher levels of objectification, sexualization and discrimination against women, unseen behind the festival and beautiful aesthetics. We will see, therefore, through a series of artistic forms typical of Japanese tradition, such as watered ink, monochromatic colors, simple figures and current pop forms, and a complex Japan that puts pleasure and male consumption before the welfare of women.
