【 摘 要 】

Despite certain achievements brought about by the French Revolution, women, at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, still remained in the shadow of man. The fight for women’s rights and privileges, therefore, continued through several voices. One of them belongs to Constance de Salm, who, in her work, called on women to pluck up their courage and push them to act. She was concerned with the value of women and showed it from the female and male perspectives. Referring to the system and the laws of nature, she fought for freedom and equality, thus challenging the universally recognized social role of women. The ideas that were essential to the poetess are particularly obvious in the Epistle to Women in which she shows the importance of the two sexes in various areas of life such as family, society or artistic creation, and redefines the qualities that testify to the value of women.
