【 摘 要 】
Abstract This case-based discussion delves into the meaning of “academic integrity,” reviews examples of issues in academic medicine surrounding academic integrity, and provides resources to manage these issues. It is intended for upper-level students, residents and/or post-doctoral students, and junior faculty. This material has been successfully deployed at the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine annual meeting (2012) and at various emergency medicine residencies around the country. The module includes the Instructor's Guide, which contains presentation instructions, notes for the slide presentation, case vignettes, and a discussion guide, as well as a PowerPoint presentation. A small-lecture or small-group format is preferable, as the cases are designed to be discussed with hearty debate of the issues of ethics and professionalism at hand. If time allows, preparation of small-group leaders may facilitate engaging discussion. Limitations include a relatively broad approach to ethics and professionalism in the academic setting. Future work may include collaboration between clinical and basic scientists to design a faculty development series for junior faculty at academic medical centers.
