【 摘 要 】

Acid-activated biochar was prepared from rubber pod husk, by activation before carbonization, and used to remove phosphate ions from aqueous solution by batch adsorption. The aim was to produce cheap carbon and evaluate its efficiency in tackling pollution of water bodies by phosphate ions. Results showed that rubber pod husk is a good precursor for activated biochar production. The maximum equilibrium adsorption capacity was (37 mg/g). Freundlich isotherm fitted experimental results most. Pseudosecond-order kinetic model fitted experimental data most. The adsorption was chemisorptive, favorable and endothermic. Result shows that rubber pod husk is a potential raw material for activated carbon production.
