【 摘 要 】

Thepurpose ofthisessayistoanalyzetheeffect generatedbythe2008crisisinthesteel industry, taking into account the effects on the trade balance and both domestic and foreign production. It is seen as the main result that domestic demand is supplied in large measure by the China production that in turn generates a deficit effect on the Colombian’s trade balance.Inaddition,aproblemisidentifiedintheproductionchainduetothesize limitation of the local steel industry.
