Experimental study on the performance of PV with water cooling

【 摘 要 】

In this work, the influence of cooling the back surface of the PV on its electrical power generation and efficiency was experimentally investigated. The proposed cooling technique is not only considered simple and cheap but can also introduce an efficient way for preheating the feed water of reverse osmosis desalination system. Two identical PV modules were simultaneously tested; with and without cooling. The results showed that the power generation of the PV was improved by about 14.1% when the proposed cooling system is implemented. The electrical efficiency also reached 19.8% when the PV module with cooling system was tested compared to 17.4% obtained without cooling.
