【 摘 要 】

Yemen, Globalization and the WTOAs Yemen recently officially applied forentry in the World Trade organization, it seems necessary to question whatis at stake in this membership. The structure of Yemen's exchange andproduction is already strongly dependent on world markets (oil,agriculture, technology, labour, etc.) and the reforms implied by thestructural adjustment policy have led to a more profound opening towardsthe world. In this framework, Yemeni officials must explore the differentpossibilities that would best prepare Yemen for WTO membership : adjustmentof custom dues, membership in regional organizations or structural economicreforms.
