【 摘 要 】

Yemen, Globalization and the WTOAs Yemen recently officially applied forentry in the World Trade organization, it seems necessary to question whatis at stake in this membership. The structure of Yemen`s exchange andproduction is already strongly dependent on world markets (oil,agriculture, technology, labour, etc.) and the reforms implied by thestructural adjustment policy have led to a more profound opening towardsthe world. In this framework, Yemeni officials must explore the differentpossibilities that would best prepare Yemen for WTO membership : adjustmentof custom dues, membership in regional organizations or structural economicreforms.
