【 摘 要 】

Tunisian Cereal Sector : Growth and Structural Changes. This study seeks to estimate the growth rate for durum wheat, soft wheat and barley in Tunisia. The estimation concerns growth in production, in acreages and in yields. The growth rate analysis is intended to provide a study of structural changes in the cereal sector. The ratio of the growth rate in yields to the growth rate in area cultivated provides a crude measure of the relative importance of land intensification and land extensification as determinants of production. A trend analysis is then made to show if there is a structural change since 1970. This date corresponds to the introduction of new technologies and to granting an input subsidy.
