【 摘 要 】
This article reports an experiment in the organisation and financing of research within the context of a sociology department in a Swiss university. It considers mostly research projects, ranging from private mandates to longer researches financed by the State. The Swiss context is described, then the specific structure that this department developed is exposed. An attempt is made to characterize the kind of research activities that took place during the period considered. Notions such as welcoming, operationalizing and accompanying underlying the functioning of the research structure considered will be explained. Finally, the idea that this research structure receives overheads, contributes to the distribution and circulation of resources, and supports doctoral students will be exposed and put forwards as a specificity of this functioning mode. The classical distinction between fundamental and applied research will be questioned. To conclude, we will say that while it seems absolutely possible, or even desirable to do and manage research by projects, all the researches should not be financed in this manner, without nuances.
