MOTOR DEFICIENCIES AND TRAUMA SEVERITY IN MOTORCYCLIST VICTIMS OF ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS

【 摘 要 】

Objective:torelatethemotordeficienciesacquiredbymotorcyclistaccidentvictimstothe severity of the traumas suffered. Method: a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study based on secondary dataextractedfrom439reportsofmotorcycleaccidentsinthestateofPernambucoin2016.TheCondensed Abbreviated Injury Scale was used to assess the severity of the injuries, and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for the classification. Descriptive statistical analysis of the data was performed. Results:alterationinthemobilityofthejointsprevailedinthemotorcyclistswithlowseverity(73.7%),and alterations in bone mobility, gait pattern and muscle strength prevailed in motorcyclists who presented a serious, lifethreateningrisk(88.9%77.8%and33.3%,respectively).Conclusion:thefindingsreflectthemagnitudeof motorcycle accidents, and the need for preventive strategies and health promotion.
