【 摘 要 】
Este trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar a gestão operacional e a administração estratégica das pequenas empresas do Corede Central do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, no período de 2000 a 2005. Foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva, sendo a amostra constituída por 124 empresas. Especificamente, nos dados levantados na pesquisa referente a gestão operacional foram identificadas as áreas das empresas: administração organizacional, gestão de pessoas, finanças e custos, vendas e marketing e gestão da produção, operações e comercialização com maior problema. Já no que se refere aos dados sobre a administração estratégica identificou-se o número de empresas que possuem planejamento estratégico, se o mesmo é total ou parcial e se é divulgado para os funcionários. Portanto, a partir do exposto pode-se inferir que, de um modo geral, a gestão operacional nas pequenas empresas do Corede Central apresenta poucos métodos eficientes para se manter no mercado, e alguns são informais e não passam de intuições ou previsões do proprietário. No que se refere aos setores da economia, foram encontrados resultados muito próximos. Além disso, visualizou-se que não há administração estratégica nas pequenas empresas do Corede Central, não tendo uma visão de longo prazo, utilizando apenas ações de curto prazo.
Abstract This work aims to evaluate the operational management and the strategic administration of small companies of Corede Central in Rio Grande do Sul State, on a period spanning from 2000 to 2005. This is a descriptive research, being the samples representative of 124 companies. Specifically on what refers to the data identified at the operational management research, the following areas of the company showing higher trouble aspects were analyzed: organizational administration, human management, finance and costs, sales and marketing and production management, operations and marketing with major problem. Regarding the information on strategic administration, the quantity of companies with a strategic planning in place was identified, whether it is total or partial, and whether the planning is disclosed or not to employees. With basis on this data, it is inferred, on a general view, that the operational management at Central Corede´s small companies has a lack of efficient methods for further permanence at the market. Some of these methods are even informal, most of the time representing nothing else than just the owner´s gut. At the economic sector, figures are similar to the ones of the operational managing. It is also perceived there is no strategic management at the small companies of Corede Central and as well no long term planning is observed, being only short term actions applied.
