【 摘 要 】

This article attempts to problematize in a balanced way the epistemological question of the relationship between the scientist and the politics in three steps. At first, it will discuss the weberian complications regarding “axiological neutrality” in its remoteness to the unilateral neutralism defended by Nathalie Heinich. Then, it will seek within Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s philosophical resources and Norbert Elias’ sociological resources in order to treat with nuance the distanciation/engagement relationship from a comprehensive distancing perspective. At last, it will end with four synthetic epistemological proposals valuing autonomous scientific activity, emancipated from scientism.
