【 摘 要 】

The current study has revealed that the first denominational hymn collections of the early Adventists in Romania would start to appear from 1909 onwards and that the collections were based on translations from German hymns, sometimes with the amazing fidelity of ideas of the original lyrics. The hymnal would become a means of modelling and consolidating the faith, and also a reflection of the spiritual preoccupations of the early Romanian Adventist community. This research sets out to present an analysis of the general Romanian context in which the hymns were born, as well as of the corroborating historico-missiological and doctrinal developments within Adventism, to which the early denominational hymnbook clearly testifies.
